It's ok but has some major flaws

So I've had this for a few months now, and whilst it's got relatively good image quality and coverage, there are a couple of problems with it. First of all, it's got a speaker in it so that you can talk to someone in front of the camera, but the people I'm talking to can barely hear me. However, it's a non issue because the notifications take anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour to come through to you phone, so anyone you might want to talk to has gone already!!! This is a MAJOR flaw. Notifications need to be instance, not take an hour!

PIR sensors work optimally when the camera is mounted around looking down somewhat and the subject of detection passes across their front. The more the object must "cross" the front of the camera the better the detection reliability. When placing your camera try to avoid situations where the subject would move straight toward the camera if possible. You may need to experiment with the sensitivity settings in the app and camera placement to get the ideal mix of detection.

Fantastic camera, does everything you ask of it. Lights cover a large area and very bright. Motion detection is very accurate. The reason I would class this camera as better than other brands is because with Swann you get 7 days free cloud storage. Other brands charge a monthly fee for the same amount.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Unfortunately this camera does not work as advertised and the Swann Security app is just as bad. Cloud videos are not playable, the app has delayed connecting to the camera and the notifications from the app are hit and miss. Customer support are unable to fix these problems and do not reply to repeated requests for help. Not at all the experience that is advertised.

Great little camera except for volume

I bought this less than a week ago set it up like i have with the rest was done easily, problem i have is.1. The siren feature is weak it won't scare a fly away its so quiet. 2. Same sorta thing the play 2 way talk is again far to quiet if you were to say something the person would have to be near sitting on it to hear it. 3.The volume controls in the app to try rectify these problems does absolutely nothing Fail Fail Fail swann I was a fan of you cameras but this has changed my opinion even the cheap rip off cameras are a lot louder it scares you and the neighbours.

Avoid

I installed these on my stand alone garage as there was power available but no means to run a cat 6. Nothing but issues. Have to be reset once a month to keep them working. And now 1 has completely died after 6 months.

The Wi-Fi range can be up to 65ft / 20m but the Wi-Fi signal can be reduced by many things around the home. Take into consideration the number of walls the Wi-Fi signal must pass through and their construction. The more solid the building material or the more metal the signal must pass through the more impact it has on the Wi-Fi signal.
Some experimentation with locations may be required to get the optimal signal, check the signal strength in the app to give you a guide on the most suitable placement options.
Contact our warranty department for assistance with a replacement order. Swann offers a 1-year warranty provided your receipt or 18-months with valid registration.

WASTE OF MONEY
