Unhappy customer. Unreliable product.

This product is a waste of money. Totally unreliable. Since installation 10 days ago the camera has been offline everyday for hours, some days offline all day. It’s not a problem with my internet. I also have an older swan model security camera indoors. This camera has been working fine for the last 4 years, so internet connection can be ruled out. As I write this review the new outdoor camera is offline at 0800 and has been since 1700hrs yesterday.

Always Offline

I bought this online a month ago but just installed it last week. My WIFI signal is all good from the location of the camera but the camera keeps on disconnecting I even moved the router closer but didn't helped. It is useless having a camera that doesn't work. Very disappointed at this swann product. I also have a swann NVR system (no problem with this system) I just needed this WIFI camera as an addition but its a total disappointment. I thought all swann products works well. what a waste of money :(

Swann seem to be thinking of everything

Many many years ago i used to design and sell commercial cctv systems. I havd always had cctv and intruder alarm systems on all my properties along with two properties abroad.
With the purchase of another property in the uk i started to look into upgrading all the systems.
Swann seems to have developed a user friendly solution for cctv and alarm triggering all in one user friendly app.
Setup of the systems and adding additional devices is seemless all because of the very cleaver app.
I hace read a lot of reviews about swann and im pleased I purchased the swann system. Also to satisfy my self that there actually was a customer support service i called them one Saturday morning. And yes i actually spoke with a human who was very helpful.

very bad security camera , No Value for money

could not pass camera junction from external wall . People needs to drill big hole in external wall . Could not pass cable up to hole size (25mm) in external wall .
could get very foggy picture at night duo to both spotlight (once it on), If spotlight switched off then could get black & white picture. and not clear picture.
could not download picture /video from Swann app to our mobile .
Swann Security App only works in mobile , it does not work with PC . This is not really helpful .
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy set up, good video but no privacy with app

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Set up was fairly simple, I chose the wifi set up. I downloaded the app but I was not a fan that I had to give them access to everything on my phone (camera, audio, contacts, location, etc) to create an account. I tried to mark no on all of it but it would not let me make an account. So strike one there.
I hooked up the security camera to my front door.
The motion detection worked well, and the video quality during the day worked well, the video at night was okay. I couldn't figure out when the spotlight would come on.
Con: if you get too far away from the device with my phone it no longer is paired.
So not not bad but not great. I have no other security systems to compare to this.

Great Security Camera

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had this this last week and only had the time today to set up. Set up was easy but I just wish it is wireless. The video quality and sound is crystal clear. I love the features to be honest especially the siren and the light. The inly thing I don’t like about this is that, you cannot have a control with the notification like if you just wanna get notification for all the motion but you also get notification for sound and you can’t control it. But overall, this product is wonderful. Highly recommended!
I would recommend this to a friend!
