I’ve had my defender case for about a month, I wish there were more appealing Visual design options, but the reason I got it is so my iPhone won’t shatter since I drop it a lot. I got the pop out feature on the back and love it. At least you can get a little design opportunity with that, I’ve dropped my phone a few times and no breakage!
Never thought I'd get into the Pop feature but it helps a ton! Since I have been working from home, the pop feature facilitates data entry into my phone. Dropped it a couple of times in the driveway from about 3' high = no damages to my iPhone 11 and no damages or scuffs on the case.
We bought new iPhone 11's last year, and wanted protection for them. Because of OtterBox prices, and not having built-in screen protection, we decided to use other brand cases, (3 different brands). My experience with OtterBox was from the Defender cases we purchased for our iPhone 6's. Loved those cases. Because of the design of the cases we seldom dropped our iPhone 6's. So using those other cases with the iPhone 11's we honestly dropped the phones more than ever within the first few months of owning them. They would slip out of our finger's because there was no grip. So we came back to the OtterBox cases, added screen protection, and were totally satisfied with the decision. My wife owns the Pop Defender Series Case, and I have the Defender Pro. Great cases, but a little pricey. Both cases need supplemental screen protection. (Still don't understand why they couldn't have the built-in screen protection). So the Prodigal Family returned to OtterBox, and have no regrets. (By the way, our old OtterBox iPhone 6 cases are still being used by other family members going on 7 years now).
I love the case. I’ve always felt more comfortable with otterbox. It’s so sturdy I feel like I can throw it against the wall without a panic attack. I’d recommend this to anyone. They're are two reasons for the 4 stars. One- it’s more difficult to charge your phone using a wireless charger with these. It works if you take the pop up part off. The second- is there were no instructions. I’m not the brightest crayon in the box so I expected there to be something to tell me how to work this complicated thing. I was sitting there for 20 mins before I decided to get on YouTube. I saw a video of a man putting it together and taking it apart. So I followed his steps. Thanks goodness for that bc I almost returned it thinking my phone was too big and size of the case wasn't actual to phone. After reading some reviews I’m not the only one that was stuck on that part with the same mindset of the size of the case. Aside from that this is a winner!
I bought this case well over a month ago and I am happy that I did. The pop socket that is built in to the case is very convenient and easy to use. The case may seem bulky at first but once you use start using it you will quickly like the protection and functionality that the case offers.
The case will protect your phone but I was looking for a case with a stand and the “pop” does not do the trick. I cannot use it to prop up the phone - which I presumed was the primary function. I am disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi, Matt!
We're sorry for any frustrations you're experiencing with your Otter + Pop Defender Series case! We usually suggest pulling the PopTop all the way out, then pushing down one side. This allows you to use the side that's still popped out as the stand for your phone. If that isn't helping, give us a ring at 1-855-688-7269, and we can get you some more tips!
This is my 3rd or 4th Otter Box. I learned the hard way - way back when- that other products are inferior. I won't buy anything but Otter products for safety (and they look nice too). I LOVE the new Pop up feature!
