When I ordered my new iPhone 11 I got a clear case so you could see the color...didn’t feel like I had any protection so I went back to Otterbox Defender as I’ve always felt secure with it! Love the built in pop socket, adds a bit of security when holding the phone and texting, viewing email, etc. I do wish the defender would be offered in cuter colors or patterns

I’ve had OtterBox cases for other phone and they did their job of protecting my phone. I’m sure this one will too, but not if I wee to drop it screen down. I don’t like that the defender series no longer comes with a screen protector. I looked all thru the website and could not find the original case with the screen protector. Then I realized that a new way to make money was discovered by selling screen protectors separately. If I hadn’t thrown the box away, I would return this and look for something that protected the whole phone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After extensive design testing, our engineers determined that the best way to interact with the display of this device was without the addition of a built-in screen protector. Additionally, this case provides the same level of drop protection offered by Defender Series cases of the past, as the screen protector did little in regards to direct impacts. I originally purchased the defender case without the built-in pop socket so that I could put one on that I didn’t see available with this pop defender case. However, the pop socket does not stick to the silicone case (I also clarified this with Otterbox customer service). So I returned that case and ordered this one, picking a pop socket option that I’d be overall happy with. Case looks and feels great but unfortunately I’ve found the kick stand option to be disappointing. Seems iPhone 11 in conjunction with the bulkiness of this case makes it too heavy to prop and so it falls over almost always. I end up having to lean my phone up against things to prop. So, I’m happy I have the protection of this defender and pop socket to use with phone in hand. But disappointed that I don’t have the convenience of the kick stand.

I bought the otterbox defender series with the pop socket. After about two days the pop socket ripped right off the back of the case when I went to pull it out.

I've been using this for a little over a month and i will say that it does feel nice in your hands and very tough as you would expect.
However when it comes to the pop socket portion it does leave much to be desired, for example it does not work as a stand for your phone (unlike what you expect) I guess the socket is positioned in such a way that it cant hold up the phone.
Also it wont work with the mount sold by popsockets, first the case pushes against it and the socket opens up, then on top of that the socket is positioned to the bottom of the case so the phone flips upside down.
these are just the two biggest problems i have with the case. Now with that being said, i still like the case and this was not enough to make me return it, but i am a little disappointed to say the least.

As for using that PopTop as a stand, we usually suggest pulling the PopTop all the way out, then pushing down one side. Instructions on how to install would have been nice since this is my first Defender, had to look up on You Tube. I got the grey and the lemon pop socket because I got the yellow iPhone. I didn't know it came with a grey pop socket on the case, too. Let's be honest, phones these days are so large and heavy that the pop socket does NOT prop them up either vertically or horizontally. It's more for hand comfort.
