I received pension payments from Canada and a TIN payer number is not provided since it is a foreign country. Your 1099R forms require I give a TIN payer number or I cannot send the files electronically. I have had to send my return in by mail every year because of this glitch. The IRS does not care if Services Canada, which sends me pension payments, has a TIN number!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!
