TurboTax switch to Windows 11 lost a customer

Long-time TuboTax user who can't run Windows 11 on current laptop. Bought H&R Block software for the first time, had no trouble importing last year's TurboTax info. Personal info, depreciation schedules, and Schedule C info all transferred. Had one glitch when trying to create a 1099 Misc form which was from a joint account. Had to create it with one of our names instead, couldn't find a way to override it. A little less chatty than TurboTax, no splashy graphics... but it downloaded and worked a bit faster on my laprop. Working back and forth between forms and interview mode not as smooth as TurboTax, IMO, but doable. Overall, good experience.
Pros: Easy to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was 90% through my taxes on the web app before hitting Portland local taxes, which the web app doesn't handle correctly. So - I started over with the software, and OMG - night and day difference. I will never go back to the web app - the software experience was qualitatively so much better all around.

Your system which I have used for many years failed me drastically and cost me several hundred dollars in interest due to causing me to not only ask for an extension but not allowing the irs to accept a payment for the estimated addition fees that I knew were necessary, I will never use your program again.

2 stars for the software but 5 stars for AI

This is the most trouble I have ever had with filing my taxes. Lots of problems with the online system. I had to dump and start again twice. Finally someone I was texting for help let me know there was a system that I could download to my computer. This is what I did for years and was told a couple of years ago it was not longer available and had it to be the online software. After this changed it worked much better. But my taxes were rejected by the IRS several times. It would not accept my PIN number. The AI help was great with this. I finally just had to file my taxes the old fashioned way. I printed them out and mailed them in. So two stars for the software this year but 5 stars for the AI.
I would recommend this to a friend!
