For many years I paid to get my taxes done. But I would go in and people would just put my numbers into software. I thought I COULD totally do that! So I've been doing my taxes using H&R products for years. I don't have complicated Taxes.

The application does OK with the basic stuff, but it comes up short on the complicated stuff. For the annualized income worksheet, it tells you to go figure it out on your own and then enter the numbers. It also has trouble with amended returns. Often the instructions are nonsense, and you have to figure it out by trial and error. A Premium version should do better. Lastly, it refuses to run unless you have a recent version of the OS, despite the fact that it's a simple (somewhat buggy) HTML app that hasn't been updated in over a decade and it would run on any OS.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have continued to use this Hr Block Tax software year after year because it is very thorough in its approach to handling my taxes. I like the features and like the error verificaiton part as it looks for potential errors after you have entered the data.
