I am quite pleased with the software. I have used it, I.e., its predecessors, for my personal joint tax-returns for the past decade or so. We are a couple of lawyers with a few investments and an occasional inheritance or loss that require /requires special attention at tax time. I use the interview menus of the software. Historically, I have thought the interview questions and tips/notes were once-in-a-while a little colloquial or jargon-y, but the AI "help" tool in the 2025 package is good and cured any such problem I encountered this year.

Does a good job with simple taxes. Including self employed or rental business for sole owner. I don’t like the way you cannot easily navigate to a specific entry when you leave the file and come back later.

Bait and switch - was told in May / June that it would not support my state treatment of FTE taxes. I would have DEFINITY not purchased and used this had I know it would fail to update in my state. Next year - TurboTax for SURE.

Waste of Money Software malfunctions

Do not use this software. I have used it for ten years but will not any longer. It creates forms that should not be created, then you cannot efile, then you have to print and manually remove them. Thankfully I am a business lawyer and could do the research to know the forms are not required or appropriate. You will spend more time dealing with software errors than handwriting return with Schedules A, B, and C.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to use. Had a friend, who is an Enrolled Agent assist with the preparation and he stated this is an excellent tax preparation program. His email is being used since my email account is frozen at this time.
