I am gone 3 months from my home so I purchased a downloadable version. I did finally complete my taxes and got my retuns, but I tried to get help through the "chat' button and only received canned responses that do not help me. I may go back to Turbotax since I have used that in the past. I only used the H&R version because I thought I could download my last year's return that was done in person.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Help is very limited: No way to get answers from real person while the AI assistant is useless. You needs to go through Q&As to figure out yourself The state e-file does not work and no explanation, just words that state return cannot be e-filed.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

Have been getting your software for years. Nothing much has improved. The integrated AI is a flop most of the time. The UX is as bad as it has always been. Since I've used it so much, I'm familiar with it and continue to use it with hopes that it will improve.

I am used to the software after using it for some years now. Very easy to use, good pre-submission checks and a quick submission that IRS accepts. I like that is preloads prior year info. It matches my own Excel calculations.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought the premium version, but it doesn’t address the scenario related to getting married in the middle of the year and switching to my husband’s health insurance. I used to have high deductible insurance and was eligible to save in a Health Savings Account. But my husband’s insurance is not a high deductible option. The software doesn’t cover the scenario and I am unsure if my filing was correctly handled.

The security/authentication mechanism you use to register the main SW and to acquire the state module does not work on any enterprise WIndows PC that is managed by a company. Those PCs do not allow apps to initiate internet transactions, so I am unable to use your SW on the PC I normally use for everyday business. Luckily I have a secondary private PC that lets me continue using your product. Otherwise I would have to use a different tax-prep product instead.
