Good tax program that needs some improvements to make it outstanding. The CA state tax form does not include the CA 568 in the Premier version for filing the very common single entity LLC. The advertisement implies that the Premier version will handle it. Business version, however, refuses to handle single entity LLC. So, the user must manually fill out this form.

I have been using HR Block for several years now, and overall it is easy to use and thorough, and I am quite satisfied. I do have one quibble: for the last 3 years I have not been able to file online, no matter how many corrections I make or what I do. There seems to be a glitch. My friend also had trouble efiling. We have given up and printed and mailed, but that is not very convenient. I hope HRBlock can fix the glitches soon.

Excellent Federal return software. Thorough updates ensure an accurate tax return. Took 1 star off because California State return still requires manual entries of data from Federal return. There has got to be a way to AUTOMATICALLY import and integrate ALL data from Federal return into the very convoluted California return.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to prepare
