I've used H&R Block Premium software for several years, so I'm very familiar with it and its quirks. It's sometimes challenging to pair the data collection framework with the actual forms. My only real complaint is that the software is sorely lagging behind with regard to reporting crypto currency transactions and staking income. The software did permit uploading data from CoinTracker, but I still had to manually input a bunch of information.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been using downloadable tax programs for over 15 years. The download was easy and entering data was fine. However, it was not user friendly for adding or making changes to more complex forms, nor did it intuitively see load them when annual statements were downloaded into the program. I would not recommend this program for anyone with any complexity to their return beyond a Schedule A.

2025 Taxes Sucked it you didn't do a straight W-2

I'm still unsure why I had so much trouble entering one of the returns I commonly prepare each year. The software wouldn't allow me to file electronically. I had to mail a return. It concerned a medical insurance set of entries for a small business. I still don't understand the problem or what to do about it, so I'm very unhappy with the software. It's also difficult to prepare my mom's return which has partnerships as investments.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Federal was , as usual, very comprehensive and thorough.
State program, (for PA) was only marginally useful. To complete, I had to rely extensively on the state provided tax instructions, which themselves are often vague and self contradictory.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to prepare

After using this software for the last several years, I was again happy with the handling of my federal and California returns.
I used a Windows 10 computer though and have been unable to install it on my Windows 11 computer.
The on line help wouldn't tell me how to do it or who to contact.
