I've been using HRB tax software for years. I use the "interview" process. This year the "interview" process was more convoluted and difficult to follow. I had the most difficulty imputting my RMD data. The program kept telling me I owed penalty for not meeting my RMD amount even though I input the required amount and withdrew more than the required amount. I had to go into the form and delete the entry the program made before I could clear the problem. Frustrating effort.

I feel that the Block software is very trustworthy. Compatibility with data downloads from my financial sites is better each year.
If there is anything to complain about it would be how Block handles certain items that are uncommon. Instead of walking us through these things the software basically throws up its' hand and says "look for help from the IRS or elsewhere". In my taxes this year I spent more time chasing down these forms than I did on any other task. In almost every case this time was wasted, usually due to the item not being relevant to my situation.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!

The interview process was not complete enough for my particular situation. I had to go back in after running the check. The process for entering unique numbers for identification didn't work properly. I think the logic for handling deceased taxpayers might be faulty.
