I have been using HR Block Premium for several years for my self-employed business. I would have liked to have more certainty with my year-end tax planning with up-to-date software that includes the qualified income deduction for self-employed/pass-through entities. The software makes no attempt to incorporate this aspect of the Tax Relief Act. There is no need to wait for IRS return forms to provide for this deduction in the software.
Tried to set up "My Block" account but it refused to "recognize" my User Name/pass word. But it would not say why.
I've always been leery of putting my info into the cloud but my son said to do it. I was going to try to save my return this year but your program would not accept me. It will not accept either a password or a username or both.
I filed both federal and state but only the federal got transmitted and filed. The state return was transmitted but still in pending status 10 months later.
Love your product in the past. This year you had a software glitch that I was unable to work around. And thus was unable to file electronically. And thus had to file on paper a day late (because I was on the road). We will discuss this further if the IRS penalizes me. The software issue: The Efile accuracy review listed an issue that I was unable to resolve, specifically: "If dependent's income is reported on line 2b of form 8962 there must be a social security number on line 6c of form 1040" Form 8962 was showing MAGA of our son, who has, in the past been listed as a dependent, but was NOT listed as a dependent in for 2017. I tried a million ways of working around this, with no success. Your response?
