I, unfortunately, need to file about a dozen state tax returns in addition to my federal. After paying extra for the Montana software I discovered it doesn’t support out of state “disregarded entities” and I needed to do it by hand anyway. Apparently, there is no way to get a refund on that state software. Other than that I had no problems.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I felt this was a lit harder to navigate than turbo tax, you also checked a box for social security because I am 62+ and that came up in the error section but you wouldn't let me unchecked it, another thing came up in the final review that I didnt understand and couldn't fix i just hope everything was correct

I have used H & R Block software for many years now. The last few years the section where the info for Stock Options is collected is not correct. The tax withholding was completed, and the software makes me put it in as the taxes are still due. So, it double dips, and that is incorrect. I called for guidance, and now I know that I need to manipulate the data to make it correct. But, I think this should be looked at.

I have been buying the HR Block home edition for over 20 years, and it has not let me down. The only problem is that it has only 5 e-file's available, and some in my family will not get their taxes done.
Suggestion: Make e-file bundles available for purchase without having to buy the software package all over again. I will not change my rating from your well-deserved "excellent" product.

The 2025 Premium software is much improved over the 2024. The program is faster, less "buggy," more user friendly (think able to move from topic to topic, or have multiple Tools open at the same time), and the Interview questions are more clear than last year. Also, the Itemized Lists work & print as they're supposed to.
All is not perfect though - small bugs still exist, but this edition is much closer to what this user expects.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The verifications at the end are a bit difficult to follow. I had an issue with the deposit of one of my refunds, saying it wasn't adding up correctly between two accounts. I hadn't added a second account, but somehow, there was a problem. I had to back all the way into the return and see that the refund amount had changed but did not refresh on the left sidebar. When you're trying to get the document filed, this is very annoying.

frustrating! i used this for 2024 and finally finished yesterday for 2025. it does not retain in sched c cost of good mat and labor numbers if you need to go back and change or add other items. all the vehicle depreciation work does not follow from the previous year. program selectively imports previous year work but not everything. it is like the program was not ready for release. almost overpaid because of software errors thousands of dollars
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
