H&R Block doesn't know how taxes work

This program is complete garbage. I did the taxes for myself and two of my kids. The program informed me that I had to send a paper copy because it couldn't do the math right and wouldn't let me override to put numbers in the right places. I had to send a paper copy of my college student's return because it got rejected (according to an e-mail we received) but I couldn't find out why because the software never could update the status beyond "pending." Although it gave us a tech line number to call for help, the automated system always dropped the call before directing me to a place where I could get any answers. The only person who successfully e-filed their return and have it be accepted was my high schooler who wasn't required to file but wanted the taxes pulled from their paycheck back.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've been using h&R block tax cut since the '90s. I'm an accountant by trade now retired, and I purchased the premium tax cut because I needed to do a k1 return. When I went to enter the k1 the information was there to enter but nothing was on the schedule e., it was all zeros. I did it a few different ways, deleting The information and reentering it. Starting all over. Nothing would help! So I ended up having to file an extension, and even though I paid for the premium tax cut I had to pay to file the extension though I should have gotten it for free, since it's a federal e-file! I am very very very very very disappointed and upset that now I have to pay a tax accountant to do something that the software said it would do.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been using the premium software for years. This year I was a partial resident in two states. I felt like the software made the split between the states confusing. The AI tool helped a little, but still confusing. Missouri did not have a partial year resident form.

This is the second year the desktop version cannot/willnot download Merrill Lynch data. I used TurboTax instead.. I dont think I will use H/R next year
