Used it for years. Only thing that they have not fixed in all these years is the number of times they force you into the forms. I would think that each year the level of automation would improve

Software is seamless during tax prep. When the file wouldn’t submit due to a software update issue, Victoria was able to professionally and patiently sort out the issue.

The program doesn't clearly address 1099-nec requirements and poorly explains the regulations.

It worked great, but when I paid for my state efile, it said I needed to update the software. So I did, and when I went to file it charged me again. I don't like underhanded practices.

Overall I'm happy with the software. The interview process was about right for me, not too tedious but thorough enough so I didn't miss important income sources, deductions, credits, etc. Reasonable hybrid between professional preparer software that I've used and the totally dumbed down TurboTax approach. There is some strangeness in the software that deserves a bit of instruction to the user upfront. For example, using the installment method to calculate underpayment penalty was handled very poorly by the software and was confusing. For the software overall being able to enter info directly on the forms rather than the interview method was not explained at all. Also, in many cases there seemed to be endless loops so I didn't know when I was actually completed with a task. For example, final checking never said you're done, it just kept taking me back to the beginning of the checking routine. If I'd have known you were looking for feedback I would have jotted some notes while I was using the software.

Easy to use. Very detailed. The program guides the user through each step by methodically and thoroughly asking a series of understandable questions designed to ensure all necessary and proper data is entered on all aspects of your tax situation. Easy to move back and forth and view/change info and see worksheets and forms

Highly suggesting more FAQs on the left hand side bar for many sections of the Schedule C for self employed. This year, I had to look up numerous publications on the IRS website, because there were not enough details included on the tax software. I've filed a Schedule C for yearswoth HRBlock software, but this year required much more research outside of the software.
