Having used H&R Block Premium Tax Software in 2018, this year was a piece of cake - the basic forms were all proformated from last year, so the return went very quickly and smoothly. Last year's issues became all resolved and everything went very well.
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

Relatively easy to prepare my 2019 tax returns. Software was able to access and retrieve our broker's end of year reports which saved hours of time vs manually inputting as I had done in years past. I really liked the analysis for likelihood of an IRS audit the program performed before finalizing the return.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

This is the 3rd year I've used H&R Block for my Federal and State taxes. We have retirement income and a vacation rental. The software asks the right questions which allows me to input the correct information.

This is so good that when I talked to accountants about doing my taxes and they heard I had been using H&R Block's software, they told me "Stick with that. You'll be fine."

Unfortunately had a bad experience using the software.
Purchased the upgrade to be able to chat with tax experts, and the few times that I chatted, kept getting conflicting information and answers. Finally had to give up and find someone else to to do them for me. Will not be using H&R software again.

It’s helpful to put together a simple return, but may require more support to move through more complex areas like the HSA. The worst is the added fees to download and file the State, making the final fee like 75% more expensive.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
