Have used HRB for the last 8-10 years and am comfortable with it and know what to expect. I appreciate the way it picks up last year's info. Generally I must go through the form three times. Do not import Quick Books info because it is often confused due to unilateral actions taken by the QB software. With HRB I feel I am in control.
Pros: Easy to import documents, Fast

it was really hard to figure out the sale of home process with form 4979 and 179. I had to actually take help from a CPA to sort it out. It saved me $10K in the end. I was expecting it from the SW,

It did the calculation that it needed to, but has a frustrating user interface. It is difficult to go back and find a specific area when you want to make updates. Also some changes do not trigger updates (donation of goods) and must be deleted and re-entered.

Paid way more in taxes compared to prior year and I changed my withholdings to decrease what I'd owe at year end!
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to import documents
