HR Block pretty good for the Federal Filing

I have been a loyal user of H&R Block Software. I think it has worked well for Federal Returns. Not so much on my State Returns. For 2024 it said I could not e-file the State return because I "payments for State Obligations". As far as I know I do not. In addition, I just received a penalty of my 2022 Pennsylvania return, mostly for a math error.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been using your software for several years.I was quite disappointed 2 years ago when I learned that my information had been shared with other companies. Hopefully your company no longer shares my information with Meta (Facebook) or Google. Please advise if that is the case.

Great for Most Types of Income but Weak on Sales

I've used HR Block for filing income tax returns including taxes on a rental property and have been quite pleased. However, it didn't provide helpful guidance for the sale of the rental property. If using it for a sale of property, you should expect to either consult a tax professional or be prepared to do quite a bit of research into tax law to complete your return.

I tried the H&RBlock online version and was not happy. I found it to opaque. So I downloaded the software and found it very easy to use. I had some trouble with the 1099-NEC. The software seemed to think I had a small business. I don't anymore.
