Federal program very good but state programs, NJ AND MA, not good with regard to part-year residency or showing/tracing calculations. TurboTax next year for sure

2024 Premium Good but Insufficient for Complex Tax

There are no instructions for Form 1116 - Foreign Tax Credit besides the interview questions which is not sufficient. No instructions on country codes, etc.

Although more expensive than the Basic version which we have used for many years, the Premium version did not offer any advantages we could find for self-employed users (despite claiming that it did), and the new method of saving our tax return in PDF format caused the tax software to crash every time which required a re-boot. Having the state tax software (for one user, included) did speed up state tax preparation.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Even their higher tiers require a lot of manual editing to my return before I submit it. But that's just my personal situation. I use this software because it is affordable, but if there was an alternative that was close to the same price that did not require me to manually edit forms for the special cases that arise from PTPs I would switch in a heartbeat.
