I had been using HRBlock to prepare and submit my taxes for several years, but switched to a free copy of Turbo Tax offered by my Bank a couple years ago. I started using HRBlock again this year because it was easier to use and seems to be more intuaitive and I will continue to use it in future years..

It seems that your app has become harder than it was a couple of years ago. I don't know what exactly but whenever I want to find something it just seems harder than what I remember. I also do not like it when I am working on something and I get the prompt to review a previous entry. When I do, I'm all the way back to that spot and need to either click my way through it, or go to the top and try to find the place I was.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

I have used the H&R Block tax software for several years now I was really disappointed with it this time. First I had a problem with the code that I received with the download from Woot. Then the program told me that I needed to upgrade it in order to use it. Then, when I got to the part dealing with mortgage interest I felt like the program was totally useless. I was supposed to input the average mortgage amount but the program had absolutely no information about how to calculate it. Since it wasn’t something that was listed on the mortgage interest paper from the bank I assumed that the program would at least show me how to calculate it. But there was nothing in the form or in the instructions on how to figure it so I basically had to give it my best guesstimate. I don’t know if I got it correct or not. I think that next year I will select a different tax program and see what it will do.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Safe Harbor form used with rental dwellings still has 2023 written on the top, even though I'm filing for 2024 tax year. Small item overall, but it really should have been updated.

I have used H&R Block software for many years with great results. I was later filing this year due to waiting on a K-1 but federal and state have been accepted, just waiting on the deposits. Had a little trouble getting information about QCDs but finally stumbled onto it.
