I was happy with the ease of the forms, but I was not happy about being charged 3 times for e-filing.

The interface of HR Block is a bit dated compared to the competition. If there is an issue with something on my tax returns, there should be a link directing me to it everytime (like the competition). A "5 star experience" would be that I do not have to follow instructions to go through menu's to find the issue. The wording on the questions for the HSA tax benefit were a bit confusing at first where it didn't apply the tax credit correctly the first time. The 529 tax credit option could be better with stated contribution and number of children flagging if the tax credit doesn't get applied. If you have two children and have contributions 8k or under, it should give questioning of how much per child.
Cons: Hard to import documents

Tax software worked fine till I had an error. Had to start a new return from the beginning to correct my mistake. Needs some work. Also ended up having to pay for it twice. I’m done but not happy.

Cons: Hard to prepare

I have been using TaxCut Premium for many years and this year’s version was as good as ever for the federal return. I just wish the state version (PA) was better, especially by including the underpayment penalty exceptions and computations. That always takes a tremendous amount of time to do manually and prevents e-filing the state return.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

Your software still leaves me in positions that I have to hope that I'm doing it right when entering investment income! I am not confident that I am entering everything where it needs to be. I am left with, "if it's this, do that! But, if it's that, do this"! I don't know! That's why I need your software! I am instructed on different "help" screens to read some IRS publication, when I was thinking YOU read them and were going to tell me what to do! I can't figure out their double-speak! You're the Pros!

For the most part it worked fine, however it is not the most user friendly an a MAC. It did not allow split screen and did not allow cut and paste. It also would not import my 1099s.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
