Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

I am buying and using the software since 20+ years. Never had an issue, but this year's state interview did not clear an entry in the form for potential underpayment penalty, such that I now have to r-submit data, although I do get a refund.

I purchased H&R Block Premium 2024 Software to do my taxes. For the most part, it is user-friendly. I was disappointed with the fact that the software does not have the capability to report gifts on IRS Form 709. The RMD section was not clear to me. It asked for me to specify the amount of RMD and then said I needed to pay a penalty. I believe the wording is unclear and so is the help.
