Two many software problems.

I bought this software which I have been using for at least 15 years. Extremely disappointed when electric energy credit form was not available for at least2-3 weeks , even though it had been issues by IRS. In addition, system was down for 1-2 weeks so that I could not transmit my return.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used Taxcut for decades and it works reasonably well. But why is there no easy way to report bugs or shortcomings? Year after year I have to reenter info on the state tax preparation that I already had entered on the Federal side. H&R Block does not seem to have a burning interest in improving this program. My tax return is fairly complicated but it could be a lot better.

While the tax code gets more complicated yearly, I'm pretty impressed that I could get through rental income, K1's, short and long term gains, etc. using this software. For me, if I'm going to take the time to put all the data together, I may as well input it myself instead of using a tax professional. This isn't universal advice; everyone's situation is different. For me, it has worked.
