Been using H&R Block Premium for 20 years. I use 'Premium' because I have rental properties. The interviews are mostly easy to understand and follow. I have chatted with a tax expert through the software for further clarification, for free. Printing copies, saving files and filing taxes online for State and Fed, are all easy to do.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Waiting for Updates required to File is excessive

With all documents ready to complete filing on February 15th 2024, it took another 6 weeks for HRB to update software. Still it gave the incorrect result for penalty for under paying estimated tax penalty. I sent return in with option to let IRS bill me. I switched from Turbo Tax to HRB 9 years ago. I stay with it for the early discounts. Also, the research to understand how to answer the HRB wording of questions makes me hesitate to change. I have rental, self-employment, SSA, dividends, cap gains, RMDs, interest and seller financed mortgage interest income to cover.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

I like this program bc easy to use, fast access. Problems: Download stock transaction have to revisit each transaction where TurboTax download stock data smoothly. Complicated case HR B program refer customer to HR B professional tax preparer. For ex: If tax payer has more than one 1095A , this program has no confidence to solve problems for tax payer. Over all, I think HRB is very good program . Rated 5 stars
