I generally like H&R Block tax software a lot but this year, even though the software gave me a "bullseye", my state return is under review and may not be done until late summer. I get no information from the State Department of Taxation so I am just waiting to see what the issue is. I may rethink my tax software next year, after 15 years with H&R Block.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I thought I would make the change from the other major tax software. It seemed like this was a better option. Unfortunately the first sign of trouble was when I tried to upload my prior year files. After multiple attempts, I finally gave up. Then it seemed that the program didn't remember me. I had to re-enter my basic information about 3 times. The final and most disturbing was that once I was all done and filed, it turned out I had made a typo that prevented my returns from being accepted. I went back to refile and the file couldn't be found. It was not saved anywhere on my computer. I started over at the beginning. Overall my entire experience with this product was one frustration after another. I really hope the IRS makes their own direct filing system.

I have been using H&R Block tax software for more than 10 years so it is my lazy go-to. Generally easy and intuitive to use, after the first time. The price increases predictably from year to year; take advantage of offers, which will get you some discount. But still too expensive.
