Verified Purchase:Yes
Program does not allow the option to use Minnesota standard deduction if you itemized on Federal. Minnesota gives option but program has to be overridden to get proper state tax prepared.

I've used H&R Block software many years, since before the name was changed. I've always felt comfortable that I was getting the best refund, when one was due, or minimum IRS payment, when one was due. I respect their security and integrity.

I have been using this software for over a decade and generally works very well. However it is not great at handling things like bond premium amortization and we are left to figure it out on our own. Also I switched to the web version a few years ago and none of my information carried over. The web version is terrible by the way so I switched back to the desktop app this year. But again lost any migration of my prior year data. Overall does the job but could be better.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

I have used the software for eight years. It is never clear to me how to navigate the various tabs at the top and what happens if I want to go backward in the process flow. A nitpick was that I downloaded info directly through the Fidelity website when prompted for dividends. Then I downloaded from the same site for interest. What occurred is that both dividends and interest were added in twice. When things didn't make sense I went back and caught it. I chose not to see what happened in prior years but think the program should have realized it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
