your software was great until it came time to submit. the edition I bought said on the package that it was state and federal filing. and then you required further payment for state filing. that's crooked and lowered my trust in your company.

I received and unexpected refund after filing my tax via the H&R software. When the explanation arrived and the information the IRS gave back to me was the same as I had submitted except when when the IRS calculated my taxes I should have paid less than I actually did. Why didn't the H&R software have the same calculations? Also there seems to be questions that are not explained. i.e. on filling out the 1099-INT in addition to asking for all the information on the 1099 there is the question of the account number. Why?
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've used TaxCut for years and this was the first time the experience was unsatisfactory. The Deluxe version wasn't available for the Mac, and when I attempted to e-file, I kept receiving an error message that my AGI didn't match IRS records. I checked the records on the IRS website. It matched.

State filing failure cost a second filing fee. Same submittal and it worked the second time. Happened on both people I filed state taxes for. Looks Like a way to double your profit.
