I have used H&R Blocks tax prepaid program for years. Easy to use. Cons: A little pricey especially if you need to file in more than one state. Electronic filing state taxes is pricey.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Every time I did the accuracy review, it flagged a line for "itemized deductions" even tho I did the standard deduction. Also it said it would help me print necessary documents I had to mail in after I e-filed. But it didn't. I had to look them up on my own. I was filing an amended return for somebody and it wanted to give him the EIC credit because he is currently over 25 even tho the year he was amending he was not yet 25. If I didn't know better, he would have gotten in alit if trouble due to HR Block programming error. I had to manually delete that form.

This is my 10th year of using this software so my annual tax filing is super simple. Just answer the questions with your new figures and taxes are done. It remembers my stocks, bonds, interest and dividend information from the prior year so update is simple. Thanks

I bought the premium version to have assistance filing the IRS form 709. The software did not support that form. A total waste of money for someone who doesn’t even itemize deductions.
Cons: Hard to prepare

I have been using hrblock to file my tax for the last 7 years. This is the first year I needed to file an extension. However, the server kept showing timeout error when I tried to submit cthe extension. I had to go to IRS to file the extension in the end. Also the final calculation changed in the last min when I entered my account information.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents

I have used H and R tax for several years. I have been really happy in the past, but this year the program was doing a lot of unusual things. It even changed the amount of refund after I had hit the send key. All throughout the taxes it was doing things that made me not trust the program.
Pros: Easy to prepare
