Honestly, I use this program because of it's consistency. Over the past 20 odd years this is the way I've done taxes. I've tried other resources and they frustrate me enough that I always go back to the Block.
I enjoy a program with the ability to do simiple taxes for my kids and the ability to save multiple profiles and try out different strategies with my more complex personal situation with multiple properties and dependents.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund

I purchased 1.5 months before tax day. I completed most of my taxes but had to wait until day before taxes were due. The software would sometimes not allow entering dates or and it would throw an alert. That took a star. What was really difficult about my first time using this was that the servers crashed at 10 pm day before taxes and did not get fixed until tax day at like 5 pm. So I had to scramble and mail an extension and state. When things resolved after six I submitted federal but this added much more stress to the process.

I have used this product for many years and I have always found it reliable and exact, until this year when I was unable to resolve a problem that kept me from emailing my South Carolina tax forms due to an error that kept arising. When I checked it and went over the interview, the information I submitted was correct, however the software kept telling me it wasn't. I also found it difficult to locate the information to try and correct the "incorrect" information that was correct, according to my W-2.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

E-file would not work on evening of April 14th or at all on April 15th. Had to printout and rush copy to post office on the 15th. Now it appears that E-file did work and therefore I have submitted two versions to the IRS. Not funny.

Mostly fine, but got double billed for filing charges because the first time I filed software ran into connection issues. Couldn’t connect to the IRS and state tax servers, but still managed to connect to the billing software. When I resubmitted I had to pay the filing fees again, even though it things did not file the first time.
