The program is very good. I feel that you need to provide help with figuring the minimum distribution for IRA's. Referring the customer to IRS publications is not that helpful because of a learning curve that you need to do when you are almost finished with your taxes. You could at least explain how to figure it out using the information already entered from the tax return. I also feel that if there is something wrong or something that needs verification, you should go to where the problem is and clearly explain what is wrong or what needs to be reviewed. I had trouble installing the program on one computer. This was because the program required the Admin password which was unavailable. I had to install the program on another computer in order to use it.
I have used H&R Block software for the last ten years and as usual I was pleased with the import of the previous year's data. I really like the general flow of the software and it's review usually catches an error on my part. This year the e-file at the conclusion malfunctioned. I submitted multiple times, but the software didn't recognize it. I verified that the return was received by the IRS so in the end, it was all good.

It is unacceptable that your servers were down the day prior to when taxes are due and the day that they are due. Shelling out so much money for it to fail like it did was the worst thing that could happen. After using your software for 15 years I will be moving on to Turbo Tax

The night prior to until afternoon of the final tax date, I was unable to efile because H R Block server down. It was very frustrating because I couldn't do anything. Not acceptable!

My experience has been that H&R Block software is easier to use than TurboTax, however, this year was hugely stressful when their efile server went down on April 14 and all the way through most of the day on April 15! It was nerve wracking not knowing if the service would be up and running again before midnight on April 15 so many people had to print out their returns and drive to the post office and stand in line to pay more money to send their returns via mail. This alone makes me hesitant to use the software again next year so I am looking into alternatives for next year.

Since I needed to pay taxes, I waited until April 14th to submit. When trying to e-file, an error kept popping up that the server could not be reached. No word about when the server would be restored was provided from HRBlock for hours on April 14th and April 15th. Finally mid-day April 15th I was able to E-file. Even then there was some confusion as I received an Email that the return was submitted, while the software said it wasnt submitted. HRBlock needed to provide better status updates while the server was down. As for the Software, it needs to make it easier to jump around to sections so i can add info as I go thru my materials.

Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
