Software was good, but the electronic transmission stopped working on the 14th for several hours. My federal return was accepted, but my state return is still pending, which is not as good as previous years. Hopefully they can keep the electronic transmission feature working, or at least provide more informative error messages.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Kept getting Bad Gateway message when trying to file return. Lost several hours trying to file my return. Very angry and panicked over situation. Checked IRS website which showed my return filed. Very sad when a government agency...any government agency outperforms a private sector company! Currently your software doesn't know the return was filed so I can't get any status for my return.

Have used for years and always pleased. Software was fine to fill out forms but sending in e-filing jest giving “server” errors. Apparently federal did go through as got an email confirmation of acceptance but software on my computer doesn’t acknowledge so had to mail in state return with paper copies.
Not impressed with e-file option this year!

This software although good for filing Federal tax return, does not provide good interface between Federal and CA state returns. I have rental properties and when I provide all necessary details for Federal return, the relevant data does NOT automatically get filled in from Federal return and propagate to the CA state return. This forces one to re-enter/provide the same information once again for CA state purposes. This seamless interface is a necessary aspect expected from any commercial software.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
