I have been using this software every year since TaxCut went away. This time it was so frustrating I don’t plan on doing it again. When completes and pressing submit, the transmit kept failing according to the software. But apparently 2 of them made it thru but the software didn’t know that so it was out of synch. I received emails indicating it was submitted and later one email saying it was accepted by the IRS and another saying it was accepted. I was unable to pay the balance due through the software since it didn’t even know the submit worked.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am a long-time HR Block user - for the first time, I am only average on the rating. I was surprised that it did not automatically compute one Federal issue and one Minnesota issue and made me go to the Forms and Instructions to figure it out.

Unclear instruction and gateway connection error

First time to use H&R Block, the program is close to other similar software and easy to use. But the instruction is not very clear and didn't tell you where to find the requested information from previous year's tax return form. And when I completed the return on 04/14 and submitted through e-file, it always showed gateway error. I was really worried after trying so many times without success. When I gave up and decided to print out and mail next day, I noticed there was an email telling me that it has been submitted successfully. It was really confusing.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents
