Been using H&R Block for twenty years now. It does a pretty good job of keeping me from making mistakes in my tax return. It did allow me to deduct my business milage twice but it was easy to find where I had done that and eliminate the mistake.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

IRS Rejected Return; Can't Make Screen Suitable

Despite following directions, Return was rejected. No errors found in review. Checked transcript and used correct 2022 AGI.
Screen just not right size.
Past version suffered from same screen issue. Otherwise, OK.

I've used H&R Block for many years, but this year is the first I've had any difficulties. I had to update information in a couple places and things got messy. Sometimes the actual forms showed updated, but the program worksheets didn't, and sometimes vice-versa. A couple times instead of updating, it created a new form altogether. I would save, close the program and reopen it just to be sure that it was showing what I'd entered. Additionally, many of the instruction/help windows that explain what things are were not really helpful at all and I would have to google things to get a simpler explanation of what it was. I hope this all gets fixed by next year -- and again, I was very surprised that I had problems at all.

Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Forms were relatively easy to use but ran into two problems. First, the free electronic submission did not work with my activation code and I was charged for a new activation code. Also, I paid for an additional state package (Vermont) only to learn after paying that this does not work non-residents.
Pros: Fast
