It was easy for me as I had worked at HRB for 25 years. I think someone else might find some difficulty in the amortization area as to what qualifies. I will be able to review better after next tax year.
I have used tax cut premium for the last 10+ years. The last 2 years my return has been rejected by the irs, due to calculations of the software, resulting in a delay on uear one of 3 months and year 2 of a couple of weeks. Thought year 1 was an anomaly but obviously not.
H&R Block Tax Software is accurate and easy to use (despite the mess that is our country's tax system). I've been using the H&R Block software for nearly two decades and have been fully satisfied. Since I live in WA, the "state" return is not an issue (no state income tax). Some of the more exotic tax issues require a little digging (I made a "appreciated stock charitable gift" last year) but in the end the directions made sense and the resultant output appeared to match the IRS instructions. Note: I am a former licensed tax preparer.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I was able to complete my return, but there are times when it tells you that there is a problem with something in a certain line, but then the line it is telling you to move it to is grayed out. It was your software that put it on the "incorrect line" in the first place, so how am I supposed to know where to move it to? So I think the return is correct after much tweaking, but am not 100% sure.
