Waste of time and money because I could not even e-file my taxes and I am still waiting for my refund because I had to file it through paper because the program did not allow me to input my Adoption Credit.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

After using H & R Block software for over a decade and being completely satisfied, it has come to an end. Upon filing 2020 income tax, NY State Tax program failed to properly calculate taxable income on unemployment benefits. Leading to an audit, penalty and tax payment.
I also find it very surprising that somehow it isn’t mentioned anywhere on the internet that it happened to other NY State software users. Is this because the guarantee to cover the penalty would be too expensive for this company to cover?

There are some places in the software where it is difficult to understand what is needed. The review process has proven frustrating as to what info is being asked for.

I've had a very disappointing experience with this, though the actual software is okay in terms of ease of use. Their help and customer service are hard to get a hold off, with long hold times and comments that they'll call or get back to you but they don't. Then you're stuck in a loop of having to call again. I still have an open claim out there for over 2.5 years now, which is unacceptable.
