New Feature Let Down

Being a long time HR Block user I was excited when I got this years HR Block Premium issue and saw that it had the Ohio School District Income Tax filing included. Doing it by hand and mail was an issue last year and thought the new feature would be nice. Not so quick, upon a final review after filing I found out that the program did not take into account payroll withholdings from W-2 information that was posted in the interview section of the program. I now have to file an amended return with the state and mess around with them. How Sad.
Overall I do enjoy the product as much as one can preparing their taxes and will use again next year.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to fix issues
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not so good this year

Did not import my taxes correctly from last years which threw off calculations. Did not file electronically correctly first time. Delayed return 1 week. Did not depreciate one of my rentals correctly. Had to accept lower number. Just not a good version this year.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to import
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Fast

Failure to notify of card fee; taxes doubled

I have used H&R Block's software for 3 years. The first two years were fine. This year, despite having more deductions, the taxes owed were DOUBLE last year. Income was the same. And they said I UNDERPAID LAST YEAR--but I used their software. And I'm honest. So what's up? Also, I selected the pay with credit card option, but the program failed to mention that there was a 1.98% interest fee for credit card payments! That meant I had to get help to find out how to select a different payment option. When I tried to search for what I was looking for, none of the help topics were available (e.g., "Credit card" when trying to find payment option information in the program).
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare

Not at all happy with the software this year. Seems it became much more complicated. Would not save returns and did not automatically pick state forms to file. Will not use next year.
Cons: Hard to prepare, Hard to import

2a..Qualified dividends from foreign source display as ordinary dividends .... why?
2b. Unclear instructions on foreign income - unsolved after online consult with tax expert
2c.NO E-File allowed - Due to foreign dividend required to be also in foreign currency (euro) on form 1116 . WHY? Is it not allowed by IRS? If Yes where it is in the IRS regulations.

Excellent Product

I have been using this for as long as they have had the program. I won't use anything else... I started using Kiplinger Tax Cut when it first came out, then H&R Block bought them and I have never changed to any other program...
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast

Won't pull depreciation method, disallowed losses

The program doesn't pull depreciation methods for rental property from prior years returns, nor does it pull prior years disallowed losses than can be carried over. This is an egregious failure and is likely costing some of your customers significantly. I've been using it, so I'm kind of stuck with it, But if I find a program that will handle the aforementioned work, then I'll be switching to it immediately. The program will not allow installation on multiple computers, something it previously did.

Over all good but HSA Deferrals Confusing

I'd rather just fill out the forms that doing it through an interview process. I find myself second guessing where the interview is going or what form it's trying to fill out. I just know the forms pretty well I guess.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
Pros: Easy to install
