I've used the H&R Block Tax software for several years. I appreciate that it walks me through every step (I'm a retired person with a part-time job AND self-employed income, so it's complicated), handles my STATE return, and each new year, it automatically imports details from the previous year.

Overall the software does a reasonable job at a reasonable price. The biggest weakness is that is does not give a lot of explanation for a lot of the more complex tax issues. I would like it to link to detailed information about how some of the more complex tax issues are handled if I want to pull it up. I have tried using the State Tax Software for Wisconsin as a completely out of state resident. It did not work correctly at all. I had to do the state tax completely by hand on my own. If you are buying it to use if for state taxes as well and you are out of state, do not bother.
