The worst tax filing experience in 20 years

This is the second year in a row I tried HR block . Before that I was using TurboTax. Last year I had a bad experience too.. but assumed that it was my unfamiliarity that primary reason. This year I'm convinced that this is much worse wrt TT. I used the premium version as I have some LLCs.. took me forever to enter info. For Oregon state tax, I had to remove a valid deduction (which I had filed for years) to be able to E-file. Not using this next year.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare

Much easier than Turbo Tax. Lesson Learned.

Great program. Was curious so switched to TurboTax last year and hated it. Confusing and overpriced. Flow of questions not even close to being as simple and strait forward. Lesson learned. One small complaint with my state return. You had a glitch in your software, a very big one. I elected to send my state information to WI by PDF. At the end of state it told me to print the following forms. No forms needed to be printed. Your program would not let me move forward. I had to seek the PDF question out and change the answer to NO so I could finish the state program. Very bad glitch. Big time waster. Not happy about this. Otherwise would have given 5 stars.

Not intuitive but hopefully good results

I understand that tax codes change, etc., but why can't H&R Block software be more intuitive? I have bought the software each year for the past few years. Yet when I go to save my 2019 or 2020 forms from the 2019 and 2020 softwares, it saves my 2018 forms. Yet, I can directly print 2019 and 2020 forms and all is well. VERY FRUSTRATING.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good Program

The federal tax program was very easy to navigate and file my 2021 taxes. The state tax -not so much, I was not able to download the state program and use it.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Formerly great, now terrible

Have used this software for several years on my Mac. This year, the program crashes repeatedly in certain places of the interview. This causes me to lose work, forcing me to save after every page. Worse, since it crashes in the same places, I have to adjust my workflow. I had to Delete the worksheets/W-2s, etc that were pre-populated from the previous year in several places. In addition, at the end, when attempting to pay Federal tax, it crashed repeatedly when entering checking account details. So I had to pay with a credit card. All of this occurred using the Mac version on an M1 MacBook Air, latest MacOS, latest H&R Block software with latest updates. Very stressful as I was attempting to submit tax return before deadline.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Simple to use but State e-File cost not included

The software is simple to use with a lot of helpful hints and explanations. The cost to e-File the State return should be included as a perk of purchasing the software. Seems very odd that federal e-file is included for 5 federal returns, but then the user needs to pay for each and every state e-filed return... You can do better!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to import documents

Always a great product, but finding where data is using either Help or GO TO was difficult sometimes.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents

I didn't receive the refund the software told I was going to receive; I have been using Tax cut since 2001, no problems. But now IRS refused to give the refund. It is a fault of the software. I am thinking seriously if I am going to acquire it next year
