Very Good But !!!

Everything seems to be in good order except the most important thing, the software would not take my wife legal first name. So her name is reported incorrectly. That is the only reason i give the software a rating of 1, because last year i used TurboTax and was able to transmit my wife full legal first name. . Everything else was very good though.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

SSL problem

The program tells to check proxy setting, disable firewall, and check date/time to resolve the problem. None of them worked and I was still unable to download state program. Spending more than a week with pinpointing the problem areas to fix, but finally gave up. Purchasing a new PC and installed the program, then finished both Federal and State.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

May have a glitch

I've been using this software for a decade. I think there was a glitch in the 2021 tax year software. I entered self-employment expenses in the Supplies category and the amount also showed up in the Other category. This made our income appear lower and the program said we would receive a refund. I didn't catch the mistake until I was working on our state taxes. There was no way for me to change the amount in the Other category of expenses; I could not access it in the interview. I had to delete the expense in the Supplies category in order for the correct net income to appear. This is concerning.
Pros: Easy to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Doesn't work with Brother Laser Printer

I have a Brother MFC-7820N Laser Printer I have used with H&R Block for years. This year, your software would not print on my printer. I had to uninstall the printer, print to PDF file, reinstall the printer, then use the system (mac OS 12.3) to print the PDF file on my printer. hint: All my other software works with my printer.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fed form 8582 should feed into CA form 3801 page 2. CA form 3801 page 2 should feed into page 1. They don't. And page 1 does not allow manual entry. Also, page 1 looks out of date referring to terminology no longer used on page 2. The program says to fill out the form but makes it impossible to do.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to prepare

Continually crashed at the worst time

I've never had a lot of luck with the stability of tax software. I had used TurboTax for years, but then it started crashing a ton, and so I decided to give H&R Block a try. Pretty good for 2-3 years, but this is the first year I started having crashes.
It would crash when I had just entered a ton of information, like driver's license or bank account info. I would have to start over and over and over. Finally, I had to give up on the bank account info, and I had to send a check because it just simply would not work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent software. Suggestions: Please include all the frequently used Arizona forms, including the AZ tax credit forms. I cannot efile my AZ return because of my charitable contributions to tuition organizations and other state-endorsed programs. This is frustrating and easily corrected. Also, it would be nice to have an introductory tax update before the return interview begins. For example, I did not know the IRS had disallowed any home office expenses on the federal return for 2021 until I had spent over an hour itemizing those expenses. Fortunately, itemized deductions were still helpful on my AZ return. Keep improving the experience and I will gladly keep using it!!
