most of the process was really easy, the one exception was foreign tax credits which had a circular logic flaw that i did not have time to pursue

Easy to use, H&R Block is the only software I believe is detailed enough that you don’t forget any deductions for maximum refund and accuracy check is amazing for any mistakes

Long time user of H&R Block software (used Tax Cut even before it was aquired by H&R Block). Needed to upgrade to higher level program this year which was pretty much seamless. There was one alternative minimum tax entry from a K-1 which the program could not handle but the instructions for manual entry were pretty clear and we successfully completed and submitted our returns electronically. Thank you for making our life easier and saving money being able to complete our own filing!

Spent the extra money to upgrade to the Premium version and it didn’t handle my 1099NEC income for my state program. H&R Block support wasn’t of any help either for something that should have easily transitioned from the Federal to State program. Very disappointed in this program!
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare

It either works or doesn't. This year it screwed me up in several ways:
-Illinois software cannot handle K-1 forms line by line
-Software screws up and merges all royalty input if you delete one input
-In Amending submitted taxes, poor instructions on IL that say to go somewhere that doesn't exist
-State software is coordinated with federal, but not at all coordinated between states
-when input in one place changes input in another place, you should warn people and explain
-you get warnings on K-1 forms, but no explanation of what the problem is
- I forget the other problems, but they happen when you have more than one state

Using this program the 2nd year was even better than the first year, because all previous information is 'remembered' and listed. This speeded things up. And I have confidence that we haven't overlooked anything. The accuracy review at the end was very reassuring.
