Maneuvering around not so easy!!!

It isn't easy to return to a particular item without going through a bunch of menus. For example: I could not get back to where you enter the stimulus payment information at all. You should be able to get to any one item with a click of the mouse. Also I could not enter more than one payer of interest income. Also I couldn't calculate my refund if I wanted to itemize & compare results with results from standard deduction.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have used H&R block tax software for many years and starting a new return begins with an automatic import of previous year's return information. Makes inputting information very easy as the software uses previous year's info to base questions on personal data, income sources, deductions and filing. All along the way your tax refund or amount owed are shown on left top corner with each input to income and deductions. Great way to do your tax returns and reinforced in the end with audit risk analysis provided.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents

The software is very good, however, there is a problem with Fm1116, Foreign Tax Credits. According to the IRS instructions for the form, if you have more than 3 countries which you have paid tax to, you should attach a continuation sheet using the same format as the form. This software doesn't allow for that. The only way I can get more that 3 countries is to fudge it and use another category of income which is not technically correct. Other than that I am very pleased with the program

For over 8 years I have used H&R Block to do my taxes. Prior I had used TurboTax, but, ran into an issue which they refused to acknowledge (over an update). No such event has occurred with H&R Block. Filling out the forms, the auto check for alerts to the filing and acceptance of the filing has been seamless. I even receive 1 state filing form that integrates with the federal!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

No assistance of any value. Agents were completely unavailable. I had to do the best I could w filling out my forms and submit it. I tried Email, chats, online bookings, and even had my mom call for me in CA because I am out of the country. No one helped me. I have used HRBlock for more than 20 years and I won’t use it again.
