it was really hard to figure out the sale of home process with form 4979 and 179. I had to actually take help from a CPA to sort it out. It saved me $10K in the end. I was expecting it from the SW,
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund

Have used HRB for the last 8-10 years and am comfortable with it and know what to expect. I appreciate the way it picks up last year's info. Generally I must go through the form three times. Do not import Quick Books info because it is often confused due to unilateral actions taken by the QB software. With HRB I feel I am in control.
Pros: Easy to import documents, Fast

difficult to find answers to some questions

Started out with Deluxe and needed to upgrade in order to get a specific form. Couldn't find any upgrade now button ( like the directions said), nowhere nohow. Could not get an answer to which software package I needed anywhere online. Needed Form 1099S. Frustrating, Good thing I'm already bald on top!

Overall good, but too many Installation / Program

Program itself is very good. I am very happy but I have noticed 3 issues. Two major and one just an annoyance.
Problem1:
For last couple of years, I have noticed that there is a major issue with Installation (state ) and Updating the software. For last 2 years, I had to call in and they sent me special package for installation. This is very frustrating

When a review is done, it give you list of issues to review. Once acknowledged / accepted, these should not show up again
