It said it had software for estates

I bought it as it said it had software for estates, but it was only a form if you were adding the estate to your personal taxes. I am the executor of the estate and it does not have the form I need. I can't even figure out if I by the business one if it will have the right form. I have used H&R Block for it before, and am very disappointed in spending the money for software that I can't even use to do the taxes I bought it to do! What a waste of money. Something similar last year, but it had not said it on the box! I checked this time and it said it had it and it does not!!! So maddening. I think I will have to try different brand of tax software next year.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Unclear and Infuriating

A lack of clarity dominates this program, especially compared to its competitors. Clicking the "Learn More" buttons often results in generally unhelpful dialogue boxes. I found myself "Googling" my questions rather than relying on the program's suggestions. Worst of all, when on the payment screen, it was unclear that paying with a credit card would lead me to a third party site (I had to click "Learn More" to even find out at all) and was charged an additional processing fee. This needs to be made much more apparent in the future. Other than the clarity issues, I'd say this program is "just OK."
Cons: Hard to fix issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Terrible. Let me e-file with incomplete forms causing huge problems. Never use it again and will get all family and customers to drop also

I've been using H&R Block software to prepare our state and federal tax returns for years--can't recall how many. One time I tried the competition and found it so complex, labor intensive, non-intuitive, double work, that I dumped the product and went back to the H&R product for that year. I've never strayed since.
On three occasions that I can remember, I took the H&R returns to CPAs for review and to learn that there was nothing to be changed. The expense was between five to ten times what I paid for the H&R program PLUS I had to do just as much work to gather the information for the CPA as I would have done to complete the H&R returns.

Very Frustrating Experience

I have been using HR Block for several years. However, this year led to a confluence of issues that made the experience very frustrating. The downloaded software only provides 1 free filing and limits your preparation to one return. Software loaded from a disk offer 5 free filings and permits preparing returns for 5 different taxpayers with one program. The software does not work on an iPad. When the IRS initially rejected my return due to a typo, it led to the rejection of my stat return. I was able to readily fix and file the federal return, but cannot file the state return without paying an additional fee.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
