We have used H&R Block tax preparation software for 4 years now. It has lots of helpful advice and walks you through the preparation with ease. My husband is self-employed and this software gets us through the Schedule C no problem! It has a great Audit guarantee too! We will be using this again next year!

I have used the H&R Block software for at least 10 years. Every year, it has worked flawlessly. This year however, I needed a form for a credit but it was not included in the software. When I contacted the help desk via chat and telephone, I was told to fill out the form manually and then send in my return via mail. I bought the software so I may e-file. So what I have to do is file my return via e-file, then after a few weeks make an amendment to my return to include the form.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

the tax software fails to properly ask questions to fill out the form 1099, i hope I did it correctly.
Also the tax software gave me the wrong address to send in my payment voucher, I had to go to IRS website to find correct addres.

Couldn't get support. Waited an hour to be told they can't do anything. Finally got it to work on my own after days of drama. Chat support makes it impossible to get a human. Then doesn't give hours of when humans are available.
Then once you do figure out how to reach someone, they don't even have the same mapping on the software so you both are frustrated trying to find the place they want you to find. I feel for them too.
Software makes you manually enter in everything for every return even if you have ones you know you want standard deductions for but almost all other software let's you choose before going through all that trouble.
Had to enter all tax papers in manually as I couldn't link the phone app to the software to upload it otherwise. Another day of trouble lost.
By far the worst experience with ANY software EVER... let alone tax software! I'm not computer illiterate either. I worked for HP for YEARS. This is just a bad design and lack of support that creates a bad product. For how much all this costs it's absolutely ridiculous! Way better off using free software!
I want my money back. Never again.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

I have used this HR Block program for many years. Imports my last years tax info and so easy to use. I highly recommend HR Block Tax programs.
