Using it is not always intuitive. I solved a number of problems by accidentally discovering it. I couldn’t always get direct answers to what I needed through word search.

I've been a user of the TaxCut (H&R Block) tax software for over a decade. Easy to use, import features are great, and usually can have the return done in a matter of a couple hours.
Only item that I found confusing is the 199 rule which the software was not able to handle from K-1 inputs.

Our tax guy retired. Our tax situation got simpler. Time to try tax software again. H&R Block seems to get good reviews for usability and I'm not crazy about some of the policies of that other tax software application so we gave it a try.
I like it. It's pretty easy to use, seems to have every form we needed (and then some), and help (whether it's how to use the application or points of tax law) is right there, with the option to talk with a tax accountant (for a fee, but that's fair). The only real downside is that it seems I had to click a lot, to bring up a form, to see the entire form, to close the window leading back to the home window, ... Lots more clicking than I think I should have to do.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

The federal return program is a bit difficult to use -- to find out out specific numbers are determined, and difficult to find some worksheets.
The state return was in accurate, and in fact I don't need to file -- which the software should have told me.

Used H&R Block software for the past three years. They make it easy as personal information is updated and last year’s tax information is handy. It’s a lot cheaper and quicker than when we used a preparer.

Struggled on Mac OS Catalina. Used this software for years but this year was difficult. Trouble updating and the state wouldn't load for free. Had to call in and get it sorted out. Staff was helpful but it was a pain.
