E-FILE ISSUES

COULD NOT E-FILE NORTH DAKOTA taxes so had to mail them in which used lots of paper.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

Good but .........

My taxes are complicated (Scheds A, B, C (2 of them), D, and E). Been using Block for years with favorable results. This year everything was handles great with 2 exceptions. 1. Cashed in many series EE savings bonds this year. No separate place to enter the int reported on 1099-Int, had to report it with all other int. All of my int was then dropped into my state return. But the EE bond int is not taxable by the states, had to manually adjust. 2. I made a Roth contribution in early Jan 2018. Then did a recharacterization to traditional then a conversion back to Roth. Software got confused and did not handle it well, had to make manual adjustments.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents

A Good Product and User Friendly

I have been using H&R Block tax software for at least 10 years and it is a very good, user-friendly product. This year the only complaint I have is when entering the W-2 info on box 14, there is no category for ""NY Family Paid Leave" which is deducted from the wages. I put the amount in "Other" but I don't know if I'm missing a deduction. Also the "NY SDI" causes an error check at the end of the accuracy review which I had to ignore. I hope these issues are cleared up for 2019.

I have been using your individual tax software since 2002. It has been excellent. I always purchase Premium Plus State Only exception (prior to this year) Publically traded partnerships.. I realize this year's forms are an abomination, but you should have done better. It took me several hours and many attempts to get through the home office section on mortgage interest. Couldn't your software just put it in the right place?
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
