Covered all the bases for me, this year was more complex than previous years for me but premium handled all of them. The aoftware does a great job of asking questions to uncover tax benefits I would probably have missed otherwise.

I have used this product for years. I like its price, but am not always happy with some of its features. Seems that one needs to have some knowledge of tax rules to be completely comfortable with the system. I am a retired CPA!!! In some cases, I eventually just made a wild guess as to the correct treatment.
Cons: Time consuming

Software still has a long way to go... has not changed in over 20 years. Some info filled in for Federal does not transfer to State or Local forms, requiring repeat entries. Some tax forms the software will not fill out for you and will ask you to download and fill out manually. Other times, forms which have no information but were left over from previous years would not delete properly, causing the software checking routines to fail and preventing filing the return. Software also did not carry forward last year's refund amounts credited to this year, meaning I overpaid and had to rely on the tax auditors to find the mistake. Finally, account information for banking and brokerage accounts are not carried forward from year to year even though institution names are, but you are left guessing what accounts you need to enter information for. I almost bought Turbo Tax this past year instead of Block, but figured by now I am used to all the bugs and annoyances of the software.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
