I'm happy with the software/\. But wondering how come my E-filing NJ return rejected whereas your software checked accuracy of return and found no error. Federal accepted the return. Couple of forms not installed had to obtain online. This time while upgrading online my hardware got damaged. Never happened in the past
I am a CPA and find many faults with this software. Its hard to find exactly what I am looking for. You should have an option to turn off all mini worksheets as those are annoying. Most of the time your "issues" don't affect efiling and are tedious to try to correct. The software does not handle railroad retirement correctly. I understand its for the average person, but maybe you should come up with a more expert version.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import
I've been using H&R Block tax software for the past 4 years. It's easy to use. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the mode of depreciation is not brought forward year after year.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import
I imported a 1099-B from my broker and had to manually update 350 “date acquired” and “basis”—what a pain in the neck. It resulted in a decrease of $1,700 in my tax bill; but, there’s got to be a better way!!
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare, Hard to import
I was looking for a 2017 downloadable tax program, tried Turbo Tax since I was always using that, it was a terrible program with worse customer service, and gave H&R a try, as I had to get it done. Much to my surprise, it was excellent, asking good questions, and the ending assessment was invaluable. Good-bye Turbo Tax, hello H&R!
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare
