I've used this software for years and this year was the most confusing it's ever been. It was the hardest year i've ever had using it. And when I needed to use the state program, it couldn't do because it was only a part year residence. Although after having to do the state taxes by hand it was a simple residency percentage, for some reason your program couldn't compute that. I am questioning using it in the future.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The program transferred an incorrect identification number by exchanging a Z for a 7 which resulted in my not being able to file my return electronically. Fortunately, I retained my e-mail with the correct identification number and was able to make the change and submit my return. You should change your directions to ensure that the user retains the e-mail until the return is submitted.

Program serves my needs for doing tax return. Calculating estimated taxes for following year could use some improvement. Would work better if estimated work sheet listed current year numbers with column to update for next year.

I put in 1099R for a government pension and when I did the state return it kept saying i entered a railroad retirement, I went back to the Fed return and doublechecked, everything was correct, had to finish return like that. never worked for a railroad

I have been using Tax Cut (H&R Block) software for many years. This year, the software gave me several messages where the software couldn't handle certain situations. I have not had that problem in the past.

I have used HR Block tax sfw since it was Kiplingers and I have been pleased with the performance until reporting 2024 taxes. In 2024 I started receiving a small foreign country government pension, that I had earned from a country that has an agreement with the American government to not tax the same pension in both countries. I tried to report the referenced national pension and related taxes paid to the foreign government on this years report, but the HR Block software would not let me report it, and after much research and calls to help lines I had to give up on reporting said pension. A better form check is needed.
I would recommend this to a friend!
